1.1 Biography

Dr.Panuwat Joyklad earned his bachelor degree in civil engineering (1st Class Honor) from Naresuan University in 2003. In 2005, he holds his master degree from school of Civil Engineering at Asian Institute of Technology in field of structural engineering. Prior to join in doctoral degree, Dr. Panuwat served as a bridge design engineer at TEAM Consulting Engineering and Management Company in which the high technique skills for design of advanced structures was developed. Next, he attained to Sirinthorn Institute of Technology and received the Royal Golden Jubilee (RGJ) Ph.D. Programme from The Thailand Research Fund (TRF). During Ph.D. study, Dr.Panuwat focused his research on advanced behavior of concrete structures under special conditions such as tsunami and earthquake. In 2010, he joined to University of Canterbury, New Zealand for advanced research as visiting researcher.  Before his graduation on doctoral program, he started his teacher carrier with Kasem-Bundit University. For next two years after he completed his degree, Dr.Panuwat entered to Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Srinakharinwirot University until now. He is also a licensed professional engineer which have been performed many practicing designed projects, and continues to take part in consulting assignments with industry. In addition, he has been assigned from Council of Engineers (COE) to be a member of savant committee to interview of associate engineer to professional engineer.

Study of bridge live load models for trucks in Thailand, Bridge evaluation under overload trucks, Behavior of concrete structures under seismic and other excitations, Strengthening methods for reinforced concrete structures, and Mechanical properties of local interlocking bricks in Thailand.

 

2.4 Research Statement

The research area of Dr.Panuwat divided into 3 groups that is responses of bridge under abnormal live load models, Behavior of reinforced concrete structures under various excitations, and development of suitable material for local construction. The first area intends to find the mathematical model for live load on bridge that lead to propose a Thai own live load design models. Next area is focused on behaviors of concrete structure under different conditions such as cyclic load, combined monolithic loads and also the behavior of strengthened concrete members. This second research area is established for providing the application knowledge to professional practices. The last interested research area is placed to find the suitable material or method for improving of living conditions of local people. The outcome of the third research area can offer the low material and appropriate technology for Thai local people that response to the social enterprise concept of Srinakharinwirot University.
