1.1 Biography
 Dr.Suniti  Suparp graduated with a bachelor’s degree of Civil Engineering from Chiang-Mai University in 1998. Then, he was granted a scholarship in Royal Golden Jubilee Program funded by The Thailand Research Fund (TRF) and continued to study Master and Doctoral Degree in Structural Engineering at Kasetsart University. The research focused on the behavior of steel frames. In 2004, he continuously conducted the research and dissertation at Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan. After graduating Doctoral Degree in 2005, he worked at Team Consulting Engineering and Management Co., Ltd. as the bridge engineer working for various development projects for both of government and private sectors. Then in 2007, he was accepted as a lecturer in civil engineering at Kasem Bundit University. Later, he was appointed as Assistant Professor and, then, Associate Professor of Faculty of Engineering in Civil Engineering field, respectively. In 2018, he moved to work at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Srinakharinwirot University. He has extensively continued his research and engineering profession. For the research tasks, excluding the behavioral study of steel structures, he has also been focusing on the bridge live load models and bridge behavior due to Thai trucks and, in addition, overweight vehicles which their weights exceed the limit specified by Department of Highways. For engineering professions, in addition to serve as the bridge engineers, he has additionally been conducting the research and academic service projects as in the position of a civil engineering expert, a structural engineer and a structural and infrastructure engineer giving services to both of government including private sectors, for example, Department of Highways, Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning, National Housing Authority, The State Railways of Thailand, Sino-Thai PCL., Italian-Thai PCL., etc. In addition to obtaining a license of professional civil engineer, he has contributed for the Council of Engineers and joined in Senior Professional Committee of Examinations for Professional Engineers in Civil and Structural Engineering. Recently, he is also a TABEE Program Evaluator appointed by Council of Engineers.

  2.4 Research Statement

 Dr.Suniti’s research interest includes 3 main areas, namely, (1) Bridge Engineering, (2) Behavior of steel and concrete structures under various loadings and (3) Applications and innovations. For bridge engineering field, the research has focused on bridge live load models and bridge behavior due to Thai trucks and, in addition, overweight vehicles which their weights exceed the limit specified by Department of Highways. The expected benefits from the research are to create the live load models conformed to the realistic behavior. The assessment of bridge structures subjected by overweight vehicles has also been interested. The research goal attempts to make a balancing point between engineering safety and engineering knowledge for economic and social developments in the country. The second area has been motivated by behavior of steel and concrete structures under various loadings. The aim of this research is to provide the applications of engineering knowledge for the engineers in professional practices. The last research field has emphasized on the method of structural strengthening and the applications of local materials for strengthening structures. The benefits of this research are expected to response in social and community development.
