 The Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) department at Srinakharinwirot University has been producing intellectually, analytically and professionally strong engineers and high quality researchers internationally since last two and half decades. We are committed in offering oriented careers in planning, designing, construction and management of building environment in a sustainable and viable manner in compliance with the refurbishment of natural environment.

 Thirteen full-time faculty members and five staff members are dedicated to teach more than 200 students per year. Recent technological advancements in academia coupled with specially designed teaching techniques from qualified faculty members are also a captivating rationale for studying at CEE @ SWU. Fully equipped laboratories with contemporary facilities help students in understanding the applications of fundamental theories in professional life.

 The Civil engineering department of Srinakharinwirot University has grown substantially since its foundation in 1993. Recently, Department of Civil Engineering has been changed to Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering for supporting of all demands.

Introduction to Structural Engineering

 The structural engineering group is created for offering the understanding of equilibrium principles, strength of materials and excitation concepts to student. In addition, the curriculum is reinforced with up-to-date knowledge especially in analysis and design of structures in disaster-prone areas. The application of new computer software is also strong point of our group. Here, the various firmed structural concepts and modern tools as mention will be transferred to learners by specialist that much of practical experiences and teaching techniques. All of the above are presented to ensure that the graduate can apply all understanding skillfully to the field of research and engineering profession.

 More than be the foundation of every application in civil engineering, the structural engineering principles will be applied directly to professional works. Introduction to Water Resources Engineering

 Graduates in Water Resources Engineering will be equipped with knowledge to work in consulting companies, government agencies and enterprises, both national and international that deal with study, planning, design, construction, and management of water related subjects. Post graduates will possess similar knowledge but additional abilities in research and analysis suitable for higher levels of responsibility. Introduction to Environmental Engineering

 Environmental Engineering is the branch of engineering that focuses on protecting and preventing the environment by reducing waste and pollutions, e.g., water waste air solid waste and hazardous waste, via the use of the appropriate engineering and management techniques.  Also included, is the improving environmental conditions by remediation technologies for cleaning up contaminated sites. The work areas of environmental engineers are in the design, control, and improvement of waste or pollution treatment systems, water production systems, the design of drainage pipes in buildings, the management of household and industrial wastes, the protection/solution of environmental problems, and the setup/administration/ assessment of processes to achieve environmental management standards and practices such as ISO 14000, EIA, Carbon Credit, LCA, etc.

 The undergraduate level in this program focuses on learning in both the theoretical and the practical aspects through the engineering foundation coursework and other core courses required to effectively work as an environmental engineer such as waterworks engineering and the design of treatment systems & environment management systems. In addition, students also have a chance to be involved in industrial training, industrial site visits, and engineering projects in their field of interest. As a branch of professional practice and with the recent heightened awareness in preserving the environment, Environmental Engineers now have a good chance to work within national or international for various types of organizations such as the governmental sector, industrial sector, the private sector, the community or society, etc.

Introduction to Geotechnical Engineering

 The Geotechnical Engineering group is one part in civil engineering department and provides an educational to students about geology, soil mechanics, rock mechanics and also structure foundation which be the basic subjects of civil engineering.  The geotechnical engineering involves the foundation of structure or road, dam embankment which using soil as construction material or underground space construction and tunnel for mass transit or other utilities. Soil and rock are different from civil engineering materials which originated in nature due to topographical and varied in physical properties. During the program, comprehensive learning is gained through the field investigation, properties testing in laboratory, mechanics of soil and rock, field inspection, monitoring devices and effects to nearby structure.
